Joe and I started our adoption journey back in 2007. We were signed up with LDS family services but got nowhere so in 2011 we got licensed with the state. In April 2012 we got Raven, Nadia, and Carson. Their adoption was finalized 12/12/12. In October 2013, we found out that their older sister was back in state custody so of course we couldn't say no to her. She was placed in our home October 10th 2013. Her adoption was finalized February 26, 2014 (just 4 days shy of her 12th... birthday).
It hasn't been an easy road, but it has been well worth it. Joe and I struggled with infertility for 12 years before adopting our first 3. The emotions that go with infertility could have destroyed us, but we didn't allow infertility to define us as a couple. Adoption is what define us and we made this decision with open mind and hearts. Our kids look and act like us. They even look like and act like extended family that they aren't around much.
Happy 3 year placement anniversary Quynsie. We can't imagine life without you. You are talented, loved and a huge help. You are amazing at volleyball and I hope you keep that passion alive in the years to come.
After yesterday and Carson getting all 0's on his behavior sheet I thought for sure we were in for it today.
Nope, I just talked to his teacher and she said he done so much better today. He even got 13/13 on his collective noun test. He was a bit emotional this afternoon but I will take that over him getting in a ton of trouble like yesterday.
I even pulled Carson aside and told him I was proud of him and that he had done a great job today.

Great job buddy.
And then this happened...
The principal asked that I have Carson call him and during that conversation he told Carson great job and that he is proud of him and he knew he could do better. Thanks Mr. Anderson, he is smiling ear to ear right now.
