Nadia won this award for getting knocked down, but never giving up.

Every time she would get punched in the face or knocked down, she would get up with tears in her eyes, but then she would get this really mad look on her face and continue on.

She really is a tough kid.

We are trying to get packed for our trip to Texas this week and so Quynsie asked me to buy her some pads just in case. Well Nadia picked these up and asked if they were chalk or crayons because she wanted to color with them. I thought Joe was going to drop his jaw to the floor. I loved the look on his and Nadia face. It was priceless. The whole while Quynsie and I were laughing our heads off.

7 days people 7 days and I can't wait. We are really needing this break as a family. After today's therapy session with Carson I feel more defeated and lost. How am I supposed to have hope If the therapist isn't sure what to do or what is going on. He is strongly suggesting that we get genetic testing done to see if there is something that we are missing. The problem is insurance doesn't cover it and it is like $500. I'm hoping this vacation will be a reset button of sorts with Carson.

Watched as our school went on lock down today. It was a bit scary as a parent watching the administrators gather kids outside and rush them into the school and then running from door to door checking to make sure they are locked and not knowing what is really happening! (I now know it was because of the bank robbery) Raven eventually came out and looked like she was going to cry and then a few minutes later quynsie calls to make sure her brother and sisters are ok. But at the same time, it made me feel good to see the school in action trying to protect my kids from harm. Our school wasnt the only one that went on lock down either.

Quynsie: it sucks while in church and your leader asks you to read and I go to pull up my scriptures on my phone and I can't because the limit on my phone has been reached so I have to say, I'm sorry I can't because my mom has this app on her phone that she can lock my phone from hers and I guess she thinks reading scriptures is against our religion and blah blah blah.... I stopped listening at this point.

 

 

I have always known that Nadia's hair had a wave to it, but now that it is short, it gets really curly, just like her mommies!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!!!

This is my 4th mothers day!!!

I don't even know where to start on what I'm supposed to write for mothers day. We waited so long to be parents 12 years to be exact and even though I didn't give birth to my kids, it doesn't make me any less of a mom. I'm the one that wakes up to them, the one to take them to school, deal with school issues, dental, doctors, therapy, I'm here when they are sad, mad, hurt or sick. I have gotten to experience not all but some of their firsts. I'm learning patience that is also a first... Lol

I stopped going to church on mothers day because it hurt so much to have all of these women be celebrated and asked to stand in Sacrament to be acknowledged as moms and I was not apart of the mom crowd.

I have always known that I wanted to be a mom clear back to when I was little.

These four kids that sit behind me in this picture are the light of my life.

 

I cry for them.

I fight for them.

I think about them all day and all night.

I try to be a better person for them.

I laugh with them.

I cry with them.

Everything I do is for them.

I am loving my new treadmill that Joe got me for mothers day. This is just what I did on it tonight. I also walked on it earlier today as well. I am sure I will wake up sore in the morning because I was feeling the burn in my calves.

 

 

Amazing we all survived grocery shopping without killing each other. I guess it helped Raven shopped with grandma and grandpa. She is the kid that gets on my last nerve in stores.

One year ago this weekend, we moved to our new house. I guess it is time to stop calling it our new house now that we have been here a year. LOL.

It is time to make some serious life changes. A year ago, I was at my ideal weight, but I think with the stress of the move and everything that has happened with Carson and all of his issues at home and school, I gained all of my weight back plus some. I am ashamed that I allowed this to happen, but I am ready to get back on track and shed these extra pounds.

This boy right here got SUSPENDED from school today for biting another student!

NOT a happy mommy!!!

I told him on the way home, that I was going to make him work and work hard today.

I was eating the rest of my lunch when I heard noise in the living room, I went in there and this is what I found.

Me: Carson what are you doing?

Carson: I decided to clean the closet out for you so that you or my sisters don't have to do it.

Me: Umm, thanks, but I think I will take it from here and you can help me.

 

Sweet? Yes

Thoughtful? Yes

Has he ever done something like this before? No

Has he ever freely cleaned anything? No

Do I usually have to fight with him for hours to even clean his room? Yes

(he cleaned his room today and vacuumed it without being asked)

 

 

This is after I cleaned it all up.

Took me 2 hours to clean this up.

 

 

 

True to my word, I gave Nadia the hair cut that she wanted a couple days later.

As you can see, she is really happy!

I was so sad that she didn't want her long hair anymore, but she is the one that has been taking care of her hair and she decided that long hair was just way to much.

Its just hair and it will grow back if she wants it to.

We have always had plans to put Carson in this program once he was old enough, but I was not expecting Nadia to want to do it as well, but she wanted to so I let her.

So far track is going better than wrestling did for Carson.

He really needs to get his energy out and since he loves running, we thought this would be great for him.

I got this desk from a friend in our old ward. It has an amazing chair that goes with it as well. I wanted to get all of the electronics on the same wall so that we could eliminate a shelf and make more room in our living room.

The ideal thing would have been to mount the TV, but since the mount doesn't fit into our budget right now, I will settle for this for now.

The rest of my living room is a wreck right now thanks to my crazy ideas.

This girl right here really wants her hair in a stacked A-line, but I was afraid if I cut too much off to begin with, then she would hate it and be grumpy until it grew back. So I made a deal with her that after she wears it like this for a couple of days and she still wants it cut more, then I would be happy to do it for her.

I can't believe that you are 11 already! Where has the past four years gone? They have flown by so fast, yet it seems like you have always been apart of our family.

We went and saw Zootopia at Raven's request.

It was such a good movie and cute.

I am so glad that we went on a Sunday and that the theater was pretty much empty because I made a fool of myself...HAHAHA

There was a scene where Judy the bunny was on top of a train and they were in a tunnel and they all of a sudden came upon a light hanging down and I yelled "Watch your head". I seriously had to sit there and think for a minute and then I looked at Joe and said, "did I just say that out loud?" He thought for a minute and said, Yes, yes you did.

After the movie, we were laughing about it and the kids said that they thought it was part of the movie and didn't realize that it was me, but once they did, they all felt a bit embarrassed.

 

After the movie, we went and got Raven her birthday present. She wanted fish so that is what we got her. I hate anything pets, but I decided to compromise on fish because they are low maintenance.

 

Raven's birthday text me to tell Raven happy birthday and this was his text:

 

I love you Raven so much...HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! today is one of the hardest days of the year for me...I try so hard to keep it together and celebrate your birthday...but every year I lose it and break down...even now I am crying like a little baby remembering when you were just a little baby and I got to hold you in my arms...I pray that some day I will be blessed enough to hold you again...I love you so much my little lady and I hope your birthday is filled with surprised, love and joy!
