Summer Vacation
Texas 2016

Day 2

May 27, 2016

11:15 AM

Oil fields!!!
It is better than yesterdays views of absolute nothing.

12:03 PM

And the cheers that erupted in the back seat!!! Priceless!!!

Time changed as soon as we crossed the boarder. So if you want to get totally out there, we lost an hour.

 1:30 PM

Our view currently...a work convey

2:30 PM

Windmill farms are every where in Texas

2:30 PM

Nothing better to do than take selfies!

3:40 PM

Naturally we had to stop and take a picture under the sign.
In fact Joe was going to pass it up and I made him stop and turn around so that I could get the picture.

5:13pm

we have made it to Coleman TX
We have gone 1125 miles so far
We got 350 miles on this tank of gas.
We get better gas mileage in Texas and the gas is cheaper.

5:51 PM

30 more miles until we get to Copperas Cove, TX
We can't wait until we get to see Camillia, Michael and the kids.

6:20 PM

Before I forget this memory.... When we crossed over Texas lines I was on the phone with my mom and Carson says... Well, its to late to take me back to grammys now! We kept telling him leading up to this trip if he couldn't behave I was leaving him with grammy so I guess he decided that it was now to late to leave him behind because we are in Texas now.

6:34 PM

We are here and couldn't be happier

9:06 PM

That first hug I got from Camilla was priceless. We hugged for so long. It was like re-charging my life line.

Me, Lucy and Bonnie (the twins)

Lucy

Me, Peter and Quynsie
This boy has changed so much since we have seen him last.
The girls really haven't changed except for getting taller, but Peter was only 6 months old when they moved and he is now almost 2.

SUMMER VACATION
TEXAS 2016

Day 1

May 26, 2016

We left at 5:30 AM Utah time
As you can see, these kids have no intentions of sleeping on the way to Roswell, NM (our first over night stop).

On the way through Spanish fork Canyon Carson asked me to put coverage on his play phone and when I asked why and who he wants to call he said I wasn't it just in case I want to call grammy.

7:15 AM
We are some where between price and Moab. Just outside of price a truck with Texas license plates got pulled over and then just now a different truck with Texas license plates got pulled over. I guess we can start the count to how many Texas drivers get pulled over and we haven't even left Utah yet.

8:15 AM
Stopping for gas and to stretch legs in Moab

10:05 AM
Crossed state lines into Colorado

Happy to be out of Utah

11:26 AM

It is pretty close to 6 hours from home to the New Mexico boarder. That is with a few stops to get gas, use the potty and stretch our legs.

1:30 PM
Finally stopped in the middle of know where New Mexico to get bread and lunch meat from this gas station so that we could feed the kids.
Joe kept saying that there should be food in the next town, but every time we would get to the next town, there was nothing. So while we had the chance, we grabbed food.

3:30 PM

Welcome to Albuquerque Traffic jam.

 6:55 PM

Finally made it Roswell, NM and we are so ready to be out of this van.
My cousin lives in Roswell so we will be staying the night with her and her boys.

11:20 PM

I loved this. Lykota climbed into bed and said this is where I'm sleeping and when his mom  said no you need to go to your bed, Lykota said no mom I have a headache I sleep here.
I sure have missed these boys and their mom. They are all getting so big and Jimmy is graduating high school next year. Where has the time gone?

And a special thanks to my cousin, her husband and kids for allowing us to spend the night and crash there house. The kids really did enjoy playing with their cousins.

May 25, 2016

Summer has officially started for the Davis'!!!

School let out today and tomorrow morning, we are headed to Texas!!!
Cant wait to see our friends.

Packed and loaded!!! We didn't even need to bag for on top of the van!

I am not sure what Carson's stats were because I went home early to finish doing what needed to be done before we can go, but Nadia let me know when she got home what she got...
100 meter 2nd to last place
400 meter got 3rd place

 800 meter got 7th place
23 feet 6 in. in javelin

I will never get used to having my baby clear in the back of the van, but he wanted to try it and I wanted him and Raven together because they get along better and Quynsie and Nadia get along better. I do not want to hear arguing and fighting the entire trip.

As soon as school got out, we cleaned the van and vacuumed. It is not perfect, but at least it look so much better. I think a detailing is in order when we get back from this trip.
This is the cleanest the van has been in awhile.

May 24, 2016

Quynsie with her friends up at Boondocks.
They went to Boondocks with the school as an end of year reward for not getting written up 3 or more times.
This is Quynsie with her friend Wes.
She says that she fell asleep on him on the way back from the Boondocks...Somehow, I don't think Wes minded.
Wes really is a sweet boy!!!
His family was in mine and Joe's ward when we all lived in Orem.
He comes from a great family who has taught him to respect women.

Autism and Sensory at its finest.
This is what he does while waiting for his sisters to finish therapy.
Notice, he does not have shoes on. If he could get away with it, he would prefer not wearing shoes period. Heck, he would rather not wear clothes either.

Today I went into the school to get carson's extra clothes and his glasses and I thought I was entering a mosh pit. Students were lining the hall with balloons and cheering the seniors on as they walked the hall getting high fives. It was kind of cool. It shows the younger ones what they have to look forward to.

Today I also got my new retainer finally!!! I have had so much dental work done, that my other retainer no longer fit. I never worried about it because my teeth didn't seem to shift until about 6 months ago I started noticing a small gap between two of my teeth. I was like oh heck no! We spent $5000 on braces and there was no way I was going to allow my teeth to shift. I marched my sorry behind back into the orthodontist and had them make me a new one.
Lets just say, I am not a fan tonight! My teeth hurt really bad tonight. I am sure the pay will go away in the next day or so, but dang, I forgot how it feels to move teeth. I will wear this thing full time for 8 weeks then I will go back for a check up and then we will go from there, but the hope is to be able to only wear it at night.

May 23, 2016

I just have to say that Raven has an awesome Orchestra teacher/private violin teacher.
Not all of these kids play the violin, in fact, most of them play the piano. They are all her students and every couple of months, she does a group lesson where they play a song for each other and then they play games that have something to do with music.
This game is called Music Twister.
The cloth is marked to represent a sheet of music and they had to know where each note would land.
They also played another game where they had to draw out sticks and whatever note was on that stick they had to clap it out. For example 2/8 notes would be 2/8ths. It gets 2 beats.
The last time, Raven had a group lesson, she was the only one that showed up, so she got an hour long lesson by herself.

This here is Nadia's long lost cd player that I finally found today in a very random place.
The pictures represent her face when she walked into her bedroom and saw it and then the last one is how she reacted to when I said that it was in my old suitcase.
That's right people, I found it in a random suitcase.
It has been missing for a year. A year people a year.
It has been missing since we moved.
I have gone through every single box that we still have not unpacked without success.
I would have never thought to look in my suitcase.
The suitcase was not even on my radar. It was the only thing in that suitcase.

This the latest in the Raven has a boyfriend saga.
Kyler is his name and today he gave her a bear that smells like chocolate.
I am sorry, I did not like this stuff when it was Quynsie because Quynsie makes friends so easily, but Raven, I have not had the heart to tell her that she is too young for a boyfriend because she doesn't make friends easily.
I do have to admit that it is a really sweet thing for this boy to do. He is actually a year older than Raven.
It has given her a little bit of confidence.

Nadia won this award for getting knocked down, but never giving up.
Every time she would get punched in the face or knocked down, she would get up with tears in her eyes, but then she would get this really mad look on her face and continue on.
She really is a tough kid.

Having some fun with Aunt Nikki in between matches.

And then when we got home, we got this....

We are trying to get packed for our trip to Texas this week and so Quynsie asked me to buy her some pads just in case. Well Nadia picked these up and asked if they were chalk or crayons because she wanted to color with them. I thought Joe was going to drop his jaw to the floor. I loved the look on his and Nadia face. It was priceless. The whole while Quynsie and I were laughing our heads off.
